This cushion cover is handcrafted by expert artisans from Kashmir. The base fabric is cotton. Fine quality original chain stitch?crewel wool thread hand embroidery, also called Crewel work is done on the base fabric. The embroidery form is over a 1000 years old. Traditional motifs inspired by local flora and fauna of Kashmir in bright colors. The tread used is wool or silk. A wide variety of different embroidery stitches are used to follow a design outline applied to the fabric. Customised designs and colors possible for a small batch production of 100 pieces.
