Chanderi is a more than thousand years old historical town in Madhya Pradesh, India. It is home to a special and unique weaving technique where the Warp thread is un-degummed mulberry silk and weft thread is cotton. Due to un-degummed silk warp, the fabric texture is very soft. Chanderi fabric is light-weight, has glossy transparency, a sheer texture and one of the best fabric to be worn during hot weather. Chanderi sarees are now GI (Geographical Indication) tagged. We encourage artisans to use Fast colors. However, in rare instance, color might bleed in the first wash. Care Instructions – First time, dry clean recommended for better results compared to machine or hand wash.
